Installing Beambox on your Omada controller is quick and easy. It takes just a few minutes to get started and add your WiFi login to the Omada SSID that you select.

Preparing your controller

Beambox requires your Omada controller to be remotely accessible. This cannot be a local-only controller or cloud account, and it must be reachable from outside of your network. This is important, as our integrator needs to be able to access it to authorize your guests.

There are a few options to launch your controller...

  1. Use hubox.co to quickly deploy a managed cloud controller in just a few minutes

  2. Port forward your hardware controller (e.g OC200) so that it is reachable on your public IP

Creating your admin login

It is important the Omada admin account you use to integrate with Beambox is considered a 'Main Administrator'. In the admin section of your Omada settings, it should look like this.

Note: If using a regular administrator account, you will not be able to integrate with Beambox.

Activating your Omada integration

Beambox will configure your Omada settings for you, adding your WiFi login in the Authentication > Portal settings. After a successful login, Beambox will then authenticate the guest's device on your dashboard at lightning speed ⚡️

After signing up for a trial, you will be presented with the Beambox UniFi integrator on your dashboard. You'll need to complete 3 fields:

  • Controller URL - This is the hostname or I.P that you use to reach your controller. You should be able to reach your controller by entering this URL in your browser.

  • Username - The username for an admin account on your Omada controller.

  • Password - The password for an admin account on your Omada controller.

Once entered, select 'Load sites' which contains the wireless network that you are looking to activate beambox on.

Next, select 'Next step' and select the WLAN group that contains your guest SSID.

Finally, select 'Next step' and select the SSID that you want your Beambox WiFi login to display on.

And that's it! Once your hardware has been provisioned, your Beambox login will pop up when guests connect to the WiFi.

You can revisit the integration setup at any time by heading to 'Locations' in your navigation, select the dropdown for your Omada location and then clicking 'Update Omada integration'.
