Interaction Trigger Flow🔄

Beambox has introduced the New Trigger Flow section in the Interactions module to make creating automated email Trigger flows more visual and intuitive.

Written by Paul Babasoro

Beambox has introduced a new Flow section within the Interactions module to make creating automated email triggers more visual, intuitive, and easier to manage. The new interface features a drag-and-drop canvas with connected nodes arranged in a mind map-style layout, providing a clear view of the entire automation sequence. Users can easily navigate the board by zooming in or out using the scroll wheel or trackpad pinch gesture. Additionally, the Flow view and Trigger view are fully synchronized, ensuring that any changes made in one view are automatically reflected in the other.

Previously, configuring automated email triggers required manual setup of filters and conditions, which could become complex and difficult to manage. Visualizing the email sequence was challenging, especially when working with multiple filters and conditions, which made it harder to understand the overall flow and maintain existing automations.

The new Flow interface simplifies the process by allowing users to visually build their trigger flows using drag-and-drop filter nodes. Nodes can be connected sequentially to define the order in which filters are applied, with each node refining the results from the previous one. Users can quickly clone or delete nodes using the three-dot menu and connect all nodes to the End Node to complete the trigger flow. Any modifications made in the Flow view are automatically synchronized with the Trigger view, providing a seamless and consistent experience when managing automated email campaigns.

How the Flow Interface Works

Sidebar Filters

Filters are grouped into categories for easy selection:

  1. Text

  2. Number

  3. Date

  4. Birthday

  5. Gender

  6. Location

  7. Login Method

  8. Form

  9. Review rating

  10. Custom Duration

  1. Text Filter

  • Fields: Full Name, Email, Phone, Country, Number field, Custom guest fields

  • Conditions: Has any value, Is, Is not, Starts with, etc.

2. Number Filter

  • Fields: Visits, Loyalty Score, Age, Emails Received/Opened/Clicked, SMS Received

  • Conditions: >, <, = etc.

3. Date Filter

  • Fields: First Visit, Last Visit

  • Conditions: More than X days ago, Exactly X days ago, etc.

4. Birthday Filter

  • Conditions: Has any value, More than X days ago, etc.

5. Gender Filter

  • Options: Male, Female

6. Location Filter

  • Select from predefined locations

7. Login Method Filter

  • Options: Facebook, Google, Discord, etc.

8. Form Filter

  • Filter guests based on submitted forms

9. Review Rating Filter

  • Options: 1–5 stars

10. Custom Duration Filter

  • Start and End date/time selection

11. Continuously Sent

  • Options: Yes / No

  • Yes: Trigger repeats continuously

  • No: Trigger fires only once

12. SMS Filter

  • Options: Subscribed / Unsubscribed

Using Nodes and Connectors

  • Add a node: Drag filter from sidebar to board

  • Connect nodes: Click and drag connectors to link nodes

  • End Node: Required for applying the trigger

  • Node options: Clone / Delete via three-dot menu

  • Order matters: Each node filters results from the previous node

Applying Filters

  • Click Apply on the sidebar after building the flow

  • Filtered guest results appear on both Flow and Trigger views

  • Adding/removing filters on either side synchronizes automatically

Tip: Use zoom in/out or trackpad gestures for large flows

Efficiency and Benefits

The new Flow interface provides greater visual clarity by allowing users to easily see and understand the sequence of their automated email triggers. By applying filters sequentially, the system helps reduce errors and ensures that each condition is evaluated accurately. The drag-and-drop experience eliminates much of the repetitive manual setup, making it faster and easier to create and maintain trigger flows. Additionally, the Flow interface is designed to scale with your needs, enabling you to manage complex automations with multiple filters and conditions while maintaining a clear and organized view of the entire process.

Summary

The new Flow interface introduces a more intuitive alternative to the traditional linear filter configuration by representing filters as connected nodes that are automatically synchronized with the Trigger view. Users can build trigger flows using a variety of sidebar filters, including Text, Number, Date, Birthday, Gender, Location, Login Method, Form, Rating, Duration, Continuously Sent, and SMS filters. Individual nodes can be cloned, deleted, and connected to the End Node to complete the automation flow. Any filters applied or modified are reflected in both the Flow and Trigger views, ensuring consistency across the experience. Overall, the new interface enables users to build, visualize, and manage automated email triggers more efficiently and with greater clarity.
